Fake Doctor Arrested in Pune After Practising for 32 Years Without Degree
Pune, 10th November 2025: A 57-year-old man who ran a clinic in Bhawani Peth’s Kasewadi area for over three decades without any medical qualification has been arrested by Khadak police after evading authorities for nearly six months.
The accused, identified as Pramod Rajaram Gundu, had been practising medicine without holding a degree or registration with the Maharashtra Medical Council. The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) health department had filed a complaint against him in May, following which a case was registered at Khadak police station.
After his anticipatory bail pleas were rejected by both the Shivajinagar Sessions Court and the Bombay High Court, Gundu went into hiding. He was finally traced and arrested by a police team led by PSI Jayasing Dhadhe.
Civic officials said the PMC has intensified its crackdown on bogus medical practitioners, with recent actions taken in Warje, Katraj, and Loni Kalbhor areas.
