Pune, 28th December 2023: A case has been filed at Paud Police Station under Pune rural police against individuals attempting to register voters using fraudulent documents within Mulshi Tehsil Office.

Under the special brief revision program for the Bhor constituency, a substantial number of applications (Application No. 6) were submitted online for voter registration at Mukaiwadi, Pirangut in Mulshi. Notably, these applications included an electricity bill as proof of residence. However, suspicions arose when discrepancies were identified between the names and addresses on the submitted electricity bills.

Upon verification on the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) website, it was confirmed that the provided bills contained inaccurate information. Consequently, a case has been registered against Vijay Marne, Amit Shinde, Bhausaheb Mokar, Shakeel Ahmed, and Mohammed Alam for submitting false electricity bills as evidence during the voter registration process.

The Voter Registration Officer for the 203 Bhor Assembly Constituency, along with Sub-Divisional Officer Bhor, Tehsildar, and Assistant Voter Registration Officer Ranjit Bhosle, have urged the public to report any similar incidents observed in their respective areas. Residents are advised to contact the nearest Tehsil or Talathi Office, as well as the local Police Station, to ensure swift action against such fraudulent attempts.
