Pune, July 16, 2020: With the announcement of the next phase of a complete lockdown, there were rising concerns with regards to supply of essential goods in Pune. Demand of vegetables and fruits witnessed a significant spike, so much so that there was a sudden need to strengthen supply. Owing to this, Farmpal, a farm to fork company, stepped up operations to meet the needs of all its customers.

Amidst COVID-19, Farmpal has strengthened its operations to ensure that customers can get their hands on all essential vegetables in sufficient quantities. Ensuring high level of employee safety and maintaining high hygiene and quality standards, Farmpal is ensuring that no customer is deprived of essential vegetables and at the same time, farmers do not face an issue when it comes to maintaining their daily income.

The company has also piloted a new B2B2C model to help individuals generate income opportunities for individuals who otherwise might be unable to work at this time, given the lockdown and be a source of second income for many. The idea is also to deliver fresh vegetables to more people while ensuring a hassle-free experience. Launched with the aim of uplifting the farmers community, Farmpal – a tech-driven farm-to-market company based out of Maharashtra announced its expansion across key cities. Powered by two committed individuals, Karan Hon and Puneet Sethi, Farmpal uses technology to bridge the gap that exists between farmers and customers while eliminating the middleman. The idea behind Farmpal is to connect farmers directly with the end consumer and give farmers a fair price for their crop.

Talking about strengthening delivery amidst COVID-19, Puneet Sethi, Co-Founder, Farmpal, said, “At Farmpal, we are constantly looking at making the platform a one-stop destination for all farmer and customer needs. Even in the wholesale sector and Agri supply chain overall, given the sudden demand it has been difficult to procure fresh supply easily and at volume. Thanks to our farmer relationships built up over the last few years, we were able to source large volumes, per requirement, and deliver to our customers. During these times, given the uncertainty, we have also established a good manpower supply network to ensure elasticity in demand and manage the ups and downs better. So, given the preparedness from lessons learnt earlier, we were able to ensure a hassle-free experience both for internal and external stakeholders.”
