Pune, 17th June 2022: The semester examinations at Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) will begin in offline mode on June 20. SPPU has written to police chiefs of all three districts – Pune, Nashik, and Ahmednagar – requesting police protection during this period wherever it is necessary due to objections from various student unions and organisations regarding uniformity in conducting the examination.

Mahesh Kakade, Head of SPPU Examination and Evaluation Department, sent the letters. According to the letter, “SPPU’s semester examinations will begin on June 20 in its affiliated colleges throughout three regions. While the exam will be held at around 900 exam centres and the timetable will be announced in phases from June to July, we ask that you provide police protection at the exam centres as needed. We all want the examinations to go off without a hitch.”

This will be SPPU’s first offline examination since the pandemic. The primary preparations began in the last two months, with a precise plan to perform the offline exams being developed.
