Fire Brigade Dept And FSAI Join Hands To Organise Fire-Safe Ganesh Mandal Contest
Pune 16th Sept 2023 : The Fire Brigade department of Pune and the Fire and Security Association of India (FSAI) have jointly initiated a competition named “Fire-Safe Ganesh Mandal” to raise awareness among Ganesh Mandals of the city regarding the fire safety measures and emergency planning during the festival. The main objective of this initiative is to ensure that the Ganesh Mandal pendals and adjoining areas remain safe from fire or accidents during the festival.
The Chief Fire Officer of Pune Municipal Corporation’s Fire Brigade Department Devendra Potphode has appealed to the Ganesh Mandals to take part in the competition. The Ganesh Mandals can fill details in a google form to participate and the best winners will be rewarded with a prize at the end of competition, said officials. The competition encourages Ganesh Mandals to take proactive measures to prevent any fire incidents or accidents at their respective locations during the Ganesh festival. It aims to educate and raise awareness among the public about safety measures to be taken during the festival.

The officials of the Pune Fire Brigade department and FSAI will jointly evaluate the entries and measures taken by the Ganesh Mandals that demonstrate exemplary fire safety measures and public awareness by physically visiting the pendals. Officials have appealed maximum Ganesh Mandals to take part in the competition.
