Flydubai Could Boost Pune’s Aviation Industry with Direct Flights to Dubai, Says PPCR Lead Dr Sudhir Mehta
Pune, 6th May 2023: Pune Platform for Collaborative Response (PPCR), an organization that aims to improve the quality of life for Pune residents, has requested theCivil Aviation Minister, Jyotiraditya Scindia, to allow Flydubai to operate flights from Pune to Dubai. In a letter to the minister, Dr. Sudhir Mehta, the lead coordinator of PPCR, stated that the introduction of Flydubai to Pune would be a great benefit to the city and its residents.
Flydubai is a well-known airline that operates in 114 destinations around the world, including 10 Indian cities, serving the Middle East, Africa, Asia, and Europe from Dubai. Dr. Mehta believes that the inclusion of Flydubai in Pune’s airport would lead to an increase in the number of travelers choosing Pune as their departure point, which would benefit not only the airport but also the tourism industry in the city and the state.
Pune is one of the fastest-growing cities in India, with a large number of people traveling to and from the city on a daily basis, especially to the Middle East. The introduction of Flydubai to Pune would provide a much-needed boost to the aviation industry in the region while also making air travel more convenient for the residents of Pune and nearby areas.
Dr. Mehta expressed his gratitude towards the minister and his esteemed office for their support in improving and expanding Pune Airport operations. He believes that Flydubai’s presence in Pune would be a major step towards improving Pune’s lack of international connectivity, given the city’s strategic location, business and investment environment.
The PPCR coordinator requested the minister to consider allowing Flydubai to operate flights from Pune to Dubai, which he believes would be a positive step for both the aviation industry and the economy of Pune and its surrounding areas. He further stated that they are looking forward to meeting the minister briefly to discuss this matter and take his suggestions and input.
