Dhanori, 16th June 2025: In a major development for the Vadgaonsheri constituency, the long-pending Dhanori to Charholi Development Plan (DP) road has finally received the much-awaited clearance from the Forest Department. This green signal clears the way for expedited road construction, ending years of delay and paving the path for improved connectivity and development in the region.

The proposed DP road, measuring 300 meters in length and 24 meters in width (totaling 0.7392 hectares), passes through forest land under survey numbers from Dhanori to Charholi. As the alignment crossed forest-controlled territory, no physical work could commence without prior permission from the Forest Department.

MLA Bapu Pathare had been actively pursuing the matter with Maharashtra’s Forest Minister Ganesh Naik, submitting repeated formal requests and personally following up with concerned authorities. His consistent advocacy led to the issuance of the essential No Objection Certificate (NOC), marking a breakthrough in the project’s progress.

Boost to Connectivity and Development
The new road is expected to significantly ease connectivity for residents of Dhanori, Charholi, Tingrenagar, Vishrantwadi, Yerwada, Lohegaon, and Kalas. It will enhance intercity travel between Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) and Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC), reducing traffic congestion, saving time and fuel, and catalyzing both urban and industrial development.

Currently, a lack of alternative routes forces residents to navigate difficult travel conditions, especially during the monsoon. With this clearance, PMC can now complete the road construction without bureaucratic delays.

“This road had been stuck for many years. Considering persistent complaints from citizens, I followed up with Forest Minister Ganesh Naik repeatedly. I thank him sincerely. MLA Mahesh Landge also made special efforts for his constituency’s development,” said Pathare.
