Pune, 19 July 2021: Every political party tries to attract the attention of the people. And the majority of the time this attention is unwarranted. The latest example being the hoardings of former Maharashtra State Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis in Pune city.
A faction in Pune city Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has credited Fadnavis for the creator of the new Pune. The hoardings while wishing Fadnavis on his birthday which falls on Thursday. The hoardings have come under fire from various quarters of society especially from the opposition parties.
Nationalist Congress Party MLA Amol Mitarki while criticising the tweet said, “It is funny. Fadnvis is called as ‘Creator of New Pune’. I haven’t heard any other funny joke like this. Great leadership and great followers”.
One of the tweets said, “It seems that Pune mayor might made special budget arrangements for the hoardings with zero leadership skills”. While yet another tweet mentioned that even Fadnvis must be laughing at this.
Apparently, Fadanvis has appealed that no hoardings or celebrations be carried out anywhere by anyone on his birthday. Instead, they should contribute towards carrying out social responsibilities.
BJP office secretary Mukund Kulkarni in a press release has mentioned that no one from the party will erect hoarding on the birthday of the party leaders. Similarly, no advertisements will be given in newspapers and on television.
Will there be any action?
Meanwhile, now the question is whether any action will be taken against those who have erected these hoardings? BJP in its letter to the party members has mentioned that we all are going through a tough phase due to Corona. If anyone wants to contribute, then they should come forward for doing social work.
