Pilgrim Place Jejuri Will Be Developed; Gets Approval For The First Phase

Pune, July 19, 2021: Temple town Jejuri will be developed as pilgrimage place and for that Rs 349 crores have been approved. Maharashtra State deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar while giving the information, Pawar said, “Jejuri is a historical place and lakhs of pilgrims visit the place from various parts of the country.

He said, “while developing the temple town it is necessary to take into consideration the opinions of the residents. While carrying out the renovation work it is necessary to keep the originality intact”.

“It will create job opportunities for local youths. Similarly, the number of pilgrims too will be increased once the place is developed as a tourist place. We need to create good drinking facilities along with keeping the hygiene of the place”, he said.

“Strict action must be taken against the sellers who sell adulterated turmeric, he said.

The planning department presented the information regarding the historical importance of the place, the guidelines that need to be followed while developing the place, renovation, using scientific and technology while carrying out the work at the hilltop.

During the review meeting MP Supriya Sule, MLA Sanjay Jagtap, Pune district collector Rajesh Deshmukh, ZP CEO Ayush Prasad and police superintendent Abhinav Deshmukh were present.
