Four Individuals Lose Their Lives in Various Accidents in Pune
Pune, 27th May 2023: Pune city was marred by a series of tragic accidents resulting in the loss of four lives. The incidents occurred in various locations, including Katraj Ghat, Nagar Road, and Lullanagar area.
One of the unfortunate incidents unfolded at Katraj Ghat, where a young individual riding a two-wheeler lost his life in a collision with a Shivshahi bus. The victim has been identified as Rohit Maruti Veer, a 22-year-old resident of Karad, District Satara.
An FIR has been registered against Sambhaji Atmaram Kumbhar, the 34-year-old driver of the Shivshahi bus from Kavthepiran, District Miraj, Sangli. The complaint was filed by Police Constable Sachin Pawar at Bharti Vidyapeeth Police Station. Rohit Veer, who had recently joined a private company, was on his way from Katraj Ghat when the speeding Shivshahi bus collided with his bike. Despite immediate police response, Rohit succumbed to his injuries before receiving medical attention. The investigation is currently being carried out by Police Sub-Inspector Mohan Deshmukh.
In another unfortunate incident, a rickshaw passenger lost his life after being struck by a car in the Wadebolhai area on the Pune-Ahmednagar road. The deceased has been identified as 27-year-old Akash Pandurang Dhotre, a resident of Koregaon Park, Lane No. 5. An FIR has been registered at Lonikand Police Station regarding the incident. Akash and Praveen Dhotre, who are cousins, were traveling in the rickshaw when a speeding car collided with them in the Wadebolhai area. Akash sustained severe injuries and tragically passed away during the course of his treatment. The motorist responsible for the accident fled the spot.
A young motorcyclist lost his life after being struck by a truck. The victim has been identified as 23-year-old Vishal Rishimuni Goud, a resident of Domkhel Vasti, Wagholi, Nagar Road. Chandan Goud, a 35-year-old resident of Manjari, filed a complaint at the Lonikand Police Station. Regrettably, the truck driver fled the spot.
Tragedy struck again when a motorcyclist collided with a stone on the side of the road while traveling from Lullanagar to the Golibar Maidan. The deceased has been identified as 46-year-old Babu Anantayya Mangal, a resident of Lohianagar, Ganj Peth. Mangal was en route to the Golibar Maidan from Lullanagar Chowk when he lost control of his bike and collided with a stone wall on the roadside. The impact of the accident caused Mangal to suffer severe head injuries, ultimately leading to his untimely demise during treatment.
