Fr. Schoch Memorial Hockey 2024: Loyola HS and St. Vincent’s Dominate Day 1
Pune, 28th November 2024: Loyola HS, St. Vincent’s H.S and New Millennium English impressed on the opening day of the Under-12 Boys section in the Fr. Schoch Memorial Inter School Hockey 2024 at the Maj Dhyanchand Hockey Stadium, Nehrunagar, Pimpri on Thursday.
The tournament is being organised by Loyola High School along with ELAN (Ex-Loyola Alumni Network) and under the aegis of Hockey Maharashtra for school children for the fifth year in succession.
In Group-A, hosts Loyola HS ‘A’ downed New Millenium4-0 with Shourya Mose (38th, 40th) leading the scoreline and Anil Pathan (2nd), Skyler Susainathan (36th) adding to the scoresheet. Later, Loyola H.S profited from Muktai School from a forfeited match.
New Millennium English, who completed three matches, logged a loss (Loyola HS ‘A’), a goalless (0-0) draw with G.K Gurukul ‘B’ and won a forfeited match against Muktai School.
In Pool-B, St. Vincent’s H.S drew with Gurukul 0-0 in their opener. Later, they defeated Col. Bhagat English 3-0 after Rajveer Singh (7th & 20th) netted and Alex Francis (29th) added another.
A total of 8 teams are divided into 2 pools of 4 teams each. The top two teams from each group will qualify for the knock-out semifinals.
