Free Plastic Surgery Camp inaugurated at Sancheti Hospital

Pune 15th January 2020: Sancheti Hospital, Bharatiya Jain Sanghatana (BJS), and Chandmal Munot Trust have collaborated to organise the 28th Free plastic surgery camp between January 15th and January 18th in Pune. The camp was inaugurated at the hands of Mayor Murlidhar Mohol in presence of Dr. Parag Sancheti, Managing Director,Sancheti Institute of Orthopedics and Rehabilitation, Dr. Larry Weinstein, Plastic surgeon, Dr. Barry Citron, Plastic Surgeon, USA, Dr. Linda Paterson, Director, Chester Surgery Centre, USA, Dr. Whitney Anne Pafford, USA, Dr. Laurence Brenner, MD, Plastic and Hand Surgeon, USA, Dr. Amol Bhamare, Chief Medical Officer, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., Vilas Munot, Sponsorer, Chandmal Munot Trust, Alok Saxena, CEO, Bharatiya Jain Sanghatana (BJS), and Shashikant Munot, Plastic Surgery Camp Organizer, Bharatiya Jain Sanghatana.

The camp will include screening and surgeries of patients with scars/deformities of the face, cleft lip, cleft palate, nose, eyebrow, ear deformity etc which will be fixed using techniques of plastic surgery. In the last year’s camp 2000 patients were screened and more than 700 surgeries were performed.

Mayor Murlidhar Mohol said that this initiative which has been organized with continuity for last 28 years is benefiting a lot of needy people not only from Pune but all across Maharashtra.

In his welcome address Parag Sancheti, Managing Director, Sancheti Institute of Orthopedics and Rehabilitation said that free plastic surgery camp was started by late Dr Sharadkumar Dixit. Under his guidance we have conducted so many camps. Now Dr. Larry Weinstein and his team are continuing the legacy through this camp. Free plastic surgery camps help the community and have been phenomenal and have brought a smile to many faces including ours.

Dr. Larry Weinstein, Dr. Barry Citron, Alok Saxena also spoke on the occasion while Shashikant Munot delivered the vote of thanks.
