Sancheti Institute for Orthopadics and Rehabilitation to host special sessions for cricket ethusiasts, athletes and cyclists

Pune 15 January 2020: Sancheti Institute for Orthopadics and Rehabilitation has organised special sessions for cricket enthusiasts, runners and cyclists. sessions will have , various experts from the US, UK and Sancheti Hospital who will guide on various aspects related to sports injuries and treatments. The sessions have been organised on the sidelines of an ongoing workshop for doctors on lower limb dysfunctions more than 110 doctors are participating in the workshop.

The special sessions have been organized on 16th,17th and 18th January, 2020 to benefit people at large. Dr. Annie Neurohr and Dr. Brendan Glackin, Running specialist and conditioning experts from Baltimore, USA will conduct the session on Injury Prevention and Performance Optimization in running on on Thursday 16th January 2020, 7pm to 8pm.Dr Anand Gangwal, Sports Physiotherapist and Iron Man and Dr. Madhan Ramanathan, Sports Physiotherapist, UK will conduct the session on Injury Prevention and Performance Optimization in cycling on Friday 17th January 2020, 7pm to 8pm. Dr. Madan Ramanathan, Sussex County Cricket, UK, Dr. Anil Bhave, USA and Dr. Apurv Shimpi, Ex. MCA will conduct the session Injury Prevention and Performance Optimization in cricket on Saturday 18th January 2020, 7pm to 8pm.

Dr. Parag Sancheti, Chairman and Managing Director of Sancheti Institute of Orthopadics and Rehabilitation said that,Sancheti Hospitals has organised the workshop for doctors on Lower Limb Dysfunction where various experts from US and UK are guiding the participants and providing hands on training . In order to extend the benefits of the international experts to sports enthusiasts and comman people , we have organised these three special sessions .

Dr Apurv Shimpi, Head Community Physiotherapy Department , Sancheti Healthcare Academy said injuries are common while playing outdoors and are part and parcel of sports. But people should know when to approach the doctor to get back on track early.These sessions will provide appropriate guidance on when to approach the doctor for treatment, what symptoms to watch our for , and the appropriate treatment.
