From Fields to Urban Oasis: The Magarpatta City Transformation
Pune, 17th August 2023: Pune’s landscape is often associated with significant districts like the IT Park, Koregaon Park, Magarpatta City, and Hinjewadi. Magarpatta City, once considered foreign, has undergone a remarkable transformation from being an expanse of farmland to becoming a privately developed urban hub.

In 1982, the Pune Municipal Corporation designated the expansive land, previously owned by the Magar family, as a future urbanizable zone, simplifying land acquisition for development. Subsequently, 123 Magar families collaborated to independently develop the land. Through the establishment of a company, each family received a share based on their land holdings. Spanning 430 acres, Magarpatta City has now evolved into a contemporary, fully-developed urban center.
