This program offered skilled players of the popular video game, Gran Turismo, the opportunity to pursue a career in professional car racing with Nissan. Jann emerged as one of the program’s most successful drivers, with a remarkable “pedal-to-the-metal” journey that is now being adapted into a movie.
Sony Pictures, through its Indian Instagram handle, excitedly revealed the project, introducing the film titled “#GranTurismoMovie.” This inspiring sports adventure, based on a true story, is set to hit cinemas on August 25 in both English and Hindi. The film revolves around Jann Mardenborough’s incredible transformation from a gamer to a real-life racecar driver, showcasing the determination and passion that fueled his path to success.
The film showcases an impressive ensemble of talented actors, among them David Harbour, Orlando Bloom, Archie Madekwe, Darren Barnet, Geri Halliwell Horner, and Djimon Hounsou. Directed by Neill Blomkamp and produced by Sony Pictures, the film tells the tale of an unlikely team of underdogs comprising a struggling working-class gamer (Archie Madekwe), a failed former racecar driver (David Harbour), and an idealistic motorsport executive (Orlando Bloom).
