Pune, 13th October: Santosh Dhoke, Pune airport director informed that once the airport reopens on 30th October, it will not resume round-the-clock operation, instead, it will shift on a 12-hour window till 1st December as per Indian Air Force (IAF) suggestion.

The airport has been operating only from from 8 am to 8 pm since last October. As per an initial plan, 24-hour operations were scheduled to begin from this month’s end.

The lack of flight operations between 8 pm and 8 am has been the main reason for flight bunching at the airport, leading to chaos, confusion, and crowding at the airport’s check-in counters and security screening. The problem has become acute since the number of flights increased in the last few months.

Meanwhile, passengers continued to face trouble over rescheduling or canceling their tickets booked for the closure window of October 14 to 29.

Travelers are complaining about queries going unanswered from the travel portals. There is confusion on ticket refunds, ticket canceling, rescheduling, re-routing due to airport closures, and airlines are just giving tentative answers.
