Ganesh Visarjan 2025: PCMC Deploys Lifeguards, Boats, and Rescue Gear at 27 Ghats
Pimpri, 29th August 2025: As the beats of dhol-tasha fill the air and colorful Ganesh processions move toward the rivers and lakes of Pimpri-Chinchwad, the Municipal Corporation has placed public safety at the heart of this year’s visarjan arrangements.
To ensure devotees can bid farewell to Bappa without worry, the PCMC Fire Brigade and Disaster Management Department have deployed trained lifeguards, stationed rescue vehicles, and stocked 27 official immersion ghats with life-saving gear.
According to Pradeep Jambhale Patil, Additional Commissioner, PCMC, “Public safety is our top priority. With lifeguards, rescue boats, emergency systems, and fire brigade support at all 27 immersion ghats, citizens can celebrate with confidence.”
Lifeguards and Rescue Equipment Ready
Each visarjan ghat has been equipped with:
Trained lifeguards in uniform for easy identification
Life jackets, rings, ropes, and megaphones
Rubber boats and fire-rescue vehicles on standby for emergencies
“The entire setup ensures that in case of an emergency, help is available within seconds,” officials said.
Safety Guidelines for Devotees, as Authorities have appealed to citizens to:
Avoid venturing into deep waters
Keep children under supervision at all times
Follow the instructions of lifeguards, police, and rescue teams

“Our fire and disaster teams will maintain constant patrols. We urge devotees not to enter deep waters and to contact our lifeguards immediately if needed,” said Umesh Dhakne, Assistant Commissioner, PCMC.
