Gangster Vikas Dubey arrested in Ujjain, had been absconding since Kanpur shootout
Ujjain (Madhya Pradesh), July 9, 2020: Vikas Dubey, the main accused in the shootout in Kanpur’s Bikaru, has been arrested from Ujjain today morning. It is being said that he went to visit Mahakal temple from where he was nabbed. The Uttar Pradesh Police team was searching for him for the last six days.
According to police, the security team of Mahakal temple caught him as a suspect. After this, Mahakal police station was informed. However, it is also being said that Dubey reached the Mahakal temple complex and shouted that ‘I was Vikas Dubey’, after which the security personnel caught him and informed the police.
Home Minister of Madhya Pradesh Narottam Mishra has said that gangster Vikas Dubey is in the custody of Madhya Pradesh Police. It is not correct to say anything about how the arrest happened.

July 6: Police arrested 3, including Amar Dubey’s mother Kshama Dubey and Dayashankar’s wife Rekha. At the time of the shootout incident, the police had approached Kshama Dubey to avoid the miscreants, but Kshama instead of helping, told the miscreants the location of the police. Rekha was also helping the accused
July 8: STF kills Amar Dubey, close to Vikas. Arrested 10 miscreants including Prabhat Mishra.
July 9: Prabhat Mishra and Baua Dubey killed in encounter. Prabhat killed in Kanpur while Baua killed in Etawah. Vikas Dubey arrested in Ujjain
