Gera Developments awarded ‘Gold’ pre-certification from Indian Green Building Council for sustainable ChildCentric Homes project
Pune, 31st March 2023: Real estate developer Gera Developments has received the ‘Gold’ pre-certification from the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) Green Homes for its ChildCentric Homes project, Gera’s Planet of Joy.
The project was designed in line with IGBC standards that integrate sustainable practices and solutions for environmental impact reduction. The certification recognizes the developer’s initiatives, such as the use of low-flow fixtures, drip irrigation, rainwater harvesting, and solar photovoltaic panels for electricity generation. The project has also covered 15% of the land with plantations and features over 50% of the land surrounding the site as green and open spaces.
Managing Director Rohit Gera stated that the certification reinforces their commitment to sustainable development, and the company advocates for green development. Gera’s Planet of Joy is the fourth ChildCentric Homes project in India and has sold more than 90% of its inventory worth over Rs. 425 crore within ten months of its launch in December 2021.
