Good News! WhatsApp Launches Dedicated App for iPad Users, Packed with Exciting Features

Pune, 28th May 2025: Meta has finally released a standalone WhatsApp app for iPad users, answering a long-time call. The new app has the same functionality as the iPhone app.Participants can have video and voice calls with a maximum of 32 people, share screen, and switch between front and back cameras.
To date, iPad users had to use WhatsApp in a web form through a browser. But with this official app now available on the Apple App Store, users can enjoy a more seamless and feature-rich experience. It also allows complete synchronization with iPhone, Mac, and other devices, ensuring continuity across platforms. The app supports end-to-end encryption, making it highly secure.
Enhanced Multitasking Experience
With the launch of WhatsApp on iPad, the app takes full advantage of iPadOS multitasking capabilities like Stage Manager, Split View, and Slide Over. These features enable users to see multiple apps simultaneously, read and write messages while surfing the web, and perform other activities while on a call. Previously, users had to leave WhatsApp to multitask, but that’s no longer the case.
Meta has also confirmed that the new iPad app works smoothly with Magic Keyboard and Apple Pencil, enhancing user convenience and productivity.
15 Years Later: WhatsApp Comes to iPad
Surprisingly, WhatsApp first appeared on the Apple App Store in 2009, six months before Apple’s initial iPad. Nevertheless, even though iPad is among the world’s top-selling tablets, Meta never made a native WhatsApp app available for it—until today. Meta bought WhatsApp in 2014 but continued to delay the release. Today, after 15 years, iPad users get to use a feature-rich WhatsApp app.
