New Delhi, 6th November 2021: Google announced that the method with which users log in to their Google Accounts will change by the end of 2021. The tech giant had asked to make the two-step verification process mandatory for all users.

Starting November 9, all Google Account users will have to go through a two-step verification to access their account. This is a big change, as it will add an extra layer of security to the account.

Announcing the update earlier this year, Google’s official blog post said, “By the end of 2021, we plan to auto-enroll an additional 150 million (15 crores) Google users in 2SV and turn it on.” 2 million (20 lakh) YouTube creators will be needed to do that.”

As per reports, Google is sending emails and in-app verification to all users to enable two-step verification. The message clearly states that if the verification process is not enabled, it will be activated automatically on November 9.

The prompt says, “After entering the password, you need to complete the second step on the phone. Keep your phone close while logging in. Two-step verification will be activated automatically on November 9. If you want, you can activate this feature first.”
