Governor stresses for instilling human values in children

Governor Acharya Devvrat said that education system should focus upon instilling human values in children besides the educational curriculum so that the country could get strong and sensitive citizens. He was addressing the Annual Function ‘ Anand Utsav ‘ of Navjyoti Senior Secondary School, Kharooni in Baddi area of Solan district today.

He said that efforts should be made by teachers and parents to set highest examples of good conduct and intellect before the children as young minds were very impressionable and they imitate the behaviour of elders. He said that children should be taught highest values of ‘Satya’ and ‘Ahimsa’, honesty and sincerity which were associated with our great culture. He said that teachers and parents share equal responsibility in the growth of child as well as nation because they moulded the thinking and attitudes of our future citizens.

The Governor urged the teachers to develop the habit of self-study and introspection among the pupils which developed their analytical ability to perceive things in a better manner. He also said that every child was unique in his own way and it was the responsibility of the teacher to tap the potential of students so that he could contribute his best to the family, society and nation.

Acharya Devvrat said that it was essential to instill the feeling of responsibility and sense of patriotism in the children so that bonds of universal brotherhood and fraternity could be strengthened. He said that young citizens should be made aware about their responsibility towards society and be associated with all nation building activities actively. He called upon the children and youth to adopt a positive outlook towards life besides compassion for the under- privileged and serve them in a selfless manner.
