Chief Minister flags off 500 additional, new air-conditioned ambulance vehicles under ‘108’ Samajwadi Health Service

Lucknow : The Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mr. Akhilesh Yadav has said that the Samajwadi government in the state was working for comprehensive and balanced development of the state and implementing schemes, without any bias, for welfare and upliftment of every section of society.

The Chief Minister was today expressing his views at his official 5, Kalidas Marg residence at the flagging off event of 500 additional, new airconditioned ambulances, under the ‘108’ Samajwadi Health Service. He pointed out how while on one hand his government was constructing the Metro Rail, it was also laying the cycle tracks, along with the construction of the expressways, mandi’s were also been constructed to give better price for the crop to farmers.

The amount of Rs 500 given to a poor family under the Samajwadi Pension Scheme has already reached 45 lakh poor women, he added. Complimenting the people on the addition of new ambulances in the existing fleet under the ‘108’ Samajwadi Health Service, Mr. Yadav pointed out that it was a very popular and effective ambulance service, which has benefited lakhs of people.

He also stated that the state government had done a lot of work to establish new hospitals and facilitated in making medicines available to those in need and that as a result of these efforts, health care in Uttar Pradesh had taken a giant leap. The Chief Minister added that the good work done by his government was reflecting in various indices of development and even eminent industrialists like Mr. Ratan Tata were praising the state government.

The state government, he also informed, was working on the ‘Dial 100’ system, wherein the police will reach a crime scene within 10 minutes. Assuring all help from state government, to improve healthcare at state-run hospitals, the Chief Minister also said that more new hospitals and medical colleges will be established and that a decision would be soon taken on providing cheaper medicines to the people and to provide generic medicines.

The new ambulance service has also given employment to jobless youths, Mr. Yadav pointed out and added that the state government was conducting skill development programmes to harness the talent of the youth and enable them to land up with good jobs. Very soon, he announced, recruitment was going to be held in the police department and that there would be no exams for it and marks of class Xth and XIIth, along with physical tests would be counted.

Addressing the gathering, the basic education minister Mr. Ahmad Hasan said that ‘108’ Samajwadi Health Service has proved to be a boon for the people of the state and the new addition of 500 new ambulances in the fleet would expand its availability and reach. Social Welfare Minister Mr. Ram Govind Chowdhary said that the Samajwadi government in the state has done impressive work in the field of healthcare, education, roads, social security and other areas as well.

The Programme was also addressed by Minister of State for Health and Medical Mr. Shankh Lal Majhi, Mr. SP Yadav and Mr. Sudhir Kumar Rawat. On the occasion, the Chief Minister also rewarded ambulance pilot Mr. Anees, Mr. Abdul Azeem, Mr. Mukesh Kumar, Mr. Anand Kumar, Mr. Sudhir Kumar, Mr. Vipin Jaiswal, Mr Rohitashva Singh, Mr. Ram Poojan Yadav and EMT Mr. Devesh, Mr. Subhash Patel, Mr. Amit Srivastava, Mr. Santosh Kumar Bharti, Ms. Deepa Yadav, Mr. Satendra Singh, Mr. Pradeep Kumar and Mr. Vijay Prakash, for providing excellent ambulance service to those in need.

The event began with a cultural programme presented by girl students and at the end of the event, the Chief Minister gave a symbolic key to pilot Mr. Dinesh Gupta and first aid kit to EMT Mr. Avdhesh Kumar and flagged off the fleet of ambulances. Also present on the occasion were Ministers Mr. Rajendra Chowdhary, Mr. Parasnath Yadav, public representatives, Principal Secretary (Health and Medical) Mr. Arvind Kumar, Principal Secretary (Information) Mr. Navneet Sehgal, Director NHM Mr. Amit Kumar Ghosh, office bearers of GVK and a large number of students and other dignitaries.
