GRAND CELEBRATION OF CHHATRAPTI SHIVAJI MAHARAJ’S BIRTH WITH 75 GRAND CHARIOTS
Pune: Like each year, the Shivjayanti Festival Committee has organized a grand procession ceremony commencing at Lalmahal on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj on 19th February 2019 at 9am. This is the 7th year of this procession ceremony. The specialty of this ceremony is the participation of 75 grand chariots comprising of ‘Sarsenapati’ (commander in chief), ‘Sardar’, ‘Subhedar’, freedom fighters, brave ‘Mavlas’ and brave mothers cited Amit Gaikwad the promoter, co-founder and president of the organization.
The commencement of the procession will take place at the hands of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s 13th descendent MP Shrimant Chhatrapati Udayan Maharaj while it will witness the gracious presence of ex-governer of Sikkim state Shrinivas Patil, guardian minister Girish Bapat, Shrimant Chhatrasal Mahendrasingh Maharaj, Raghavendrasinh Maharaj, Bundela Maharaj, MP Supriya Sule, state minister Vijay Shivtare, MP Anil Shirole, mayor Mukta Tilak, BVG group’s Hanumant Gayakwad, ML Shashikant Shinde, industrialist Yuvraj Dhamale, police deputy commissioner Suhas Bavche, Uday Mahurkar, Rohit Pawar, team Mulshi Pattern, Adv. Pratap Pardeshi, coordinator Sunil Marne, Pravin Pardeshi along with representatives of all ‘swarajya gharanas’.
Historical War craft from the times of Shivaji Maharaj will be presented by 51 girl members of ‘Aurangasur Mardani Bhadrakali Ranaragini Maharani Tararani Shaurya Pathak’. Shivgarjana Dhol-tasha pathak, 51 Ranashing, the cymbals group of women will also participate in the procession ceremony. Statues of sarsenapati Veer Baji Pasalkar, Haibatrao Shilimkar, Ranmard Sambhaji Kondhalkar and Sarnobat Narveer Pillaji Gole will be unveiled during the ceremony.
The ceremony has been organized under the guidance of organization’s promoter, co-founder and President Amit Gaikwad by Lalit Shinde, Deepak Ghule, Sachin Paygude, Ravindra Kank, Digvijay Jedhe, Shankar Kadu, Mahesh Malusure, Nilesh Jedhe, Gopi Pawar, Anil Pawar, Samir Jadhavrao, Deepak Bandal, Kiran Desai, Mandar Mate, Pravinbhaiyya Gayakwad, Mayuresh Dalvi along with numerous followers of Shivaji Maharaj. The committee has made an appeal to all citizens to participate in this grand procession ceremony.
Shivjayanti Ceremony Committee’s promoter, co-founder and President Amit Gaikwad to pay salute by flowering through helicopter on Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s statue for consecutive 8th year.
The grand statue at SSPMS School will be flowered through the helicopter by Ishan Amit Gaikwad and 75 year old Sureshrao Krushnaji Gaikwad between 11 am to 12 pm. This is the 8th consecutive year of the flowering from helicopter.
