Guardian Minister Patil Inspects Pune Metro Stations Ahead of PM’s Visit

Pune, 29th July 2023: With the upcoming inauguration of the Phugewadi to Civil Court and Garware College to Ruby Hall lines of the Pune Metro by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday, State Higher and Technical Education Minister and District Guardian Minister Chandrakant Patil took charge by inspecting the Ruby Hall, Civil Court, and Shivaji Nagar metro stations. He thoroughly inspected these stations and also took a ride between Ruby Hall Station and Shivaji Nagar Metro Station.

During the inspection, MLA Siddharth Shirole, Divisional Commissioner Saurabh Rao, Metro Managing Director Shravan Hardikar, Pune Municipal Commissioner Vikram Kumar, Collector Dr. Rajesh Deshmukh, Metro Executive Director Dr. Muralidhar Mohol, Rajesh Pande, and other dignitaries accompanied Hemant Sonawane.

Appealing for Metro Commute Guardian Minister Patil emphasized that with the introduction of these two new routes, Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad cities will be efficiently connected, making travel to key areas within Pune city more accessible. The newly launched route will connect crucial locations like Shivaji Nagar, Civil Court, RTO, Pune Railway Station, PMC, Sambhaji Garden, and Deccan, greatly benefiting the citizens of Pune.

The metro line is expected to offer a superior and efficient travel option for Pune residents, effectively easing traffic congestion in the city. Additional facilities like electric buses and parking spaces near metro stations have been arranged to facilitate commuter access. Therefore, he urged citizens to embrace the metro as their preferred mode of travel.

Patil also took the opportunity to interact with the metro driver and extended his congratulations.

The Pune Metro currently boasts 4 stations on the 6.9 km route from Phugewadi to Civil Court and 7 stations on the 4.7 km route from Garware College to Ruby Hall, totaling 23.66 km of metro lines with a total of 21 stations in Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad cities. This development is expected to cut travel time by 50 percent. Additionally, there will be seamless coordination with PMPML services in Deccan, Shivajinagar, and Pune Municipalities.
