Gujarat: Farmer commits suicide, says BJP is considered a family, but it was no use
Ahmedabad, January 4, 2021: A farmer named Balwant Singh Charan committed suicide in Vanderweed village of Mahisagar district in Gujarat. Before hanging himself in the Panchayat, Balwant left a letter to the BJP MP and MLA from Lunavada. He wrote in this note, “I used to consider BJP my family but to no avail.”
The suicide letter showed that Balwant’s financial condition was very poor. He did not receive any kind of government assistance and due to this, he embraced death.
“My soul will be with BJP even after death”
Balwant wrote in his suicide note: Bharat Mata Ki Jai, BJP Ki Jay-Jaykar. Parliament Member, Ratan Singh Rathore Saheb, and MLA, Guryeshbhai Sevak Saheb, you can help the poor, and that is why God has elevated you to such a high status. I am a poor person. I was associated with BJP for many years. My soul also resides in the BJP. After my death, my soul shall remain with the BJP.
The suicide note read, “Ever since I was made Tehsildar, BJP was considered by family… After this, the situation changed again and no one was of any use.”
Could not even build a toilet at home
Balwant Singh wrote, “I never misused my position. I pleaded several times for financial help, but to date, I could not get any support from the government. I couldn’t build even the toilet at my house. Home or other help was far away.” The villagers say that action should be taken against the government officials responsible for this suicide.
