Gujarat Police Claim That Most Wanted Terrorist Riyaz Bhatkal Lives In Pune, Police Denies Claim

Pune, 23rd November 2022: Most wanted terrorist Riyaz Bhatkal, co-founder of banned terrorist organisation Indian Mujahideen, who is the alleged mastermind behind several bomb blast plots across the country, lives in Pune, Gujarat police have claimed.

 

In the backdrop of Gujarat Assembly Elections, Gujarat Police has sent the list of criminals who have committed crimes and are currently living in Maharashtra as per their knowledge.

 

In this list, it has been claimed that Pune is the current address of Riyaz and the other three accused in seven terrorist acts. However, the Pune police say that there is no suspected terrorist residing in Pune at present, and because of this, the police of the two states are standing face to face.

 

In the wake of the Assembly elections, the Gujarat Police has undertaken a campaign to find the accused who absconded after committing the crime. A list of absconding accused has been prepared and sent to the respective states.

The Gujarat Police has sent a list of the accused who are wanted in the crimes of fraud, burglary, theft by pretending to be police, the black market of weapons, rape, extortion, robbery, and kidnapping to the Maharashtra police stating that most of the criminals are currently residing in Pune district.

 

According to the list, the accused also includes five women. Reportedly, the suspected terrorists are living in Bhosari, Akurdi, Gahunje in Pimpri-Chinchwad, Senapati Bapat Road, Kothrud, Bibvewadi, Wagholi, Hadapsar, Katraj, Kondhwa in Pune and Baramati, Khed-Shivapur, Lonikand, and other parts of the district.

 

This list has been sent to the chiefs of 18 police stations in the Pimpri-Chinchwad police commissionerate by the police administration of the state. It has been ordered that the detection branch of the police stations and the crime branch should trace the whereabouts of the accused in this list.

 

Also, if the accused is found, they should be arrested, and further action should be taken. It has also been asked to submit a report if the accused is not found at the given address. The order has also mentioned that all the accused on the list should be searched by the police from November 22 to December 5.

 

The list of Gujarat Police has included the three most wanted terrorists Riyaz Bhatkal alias Mohammad Riyaz, Mohsin Ismail Choudhary, and Iqbal Bhatkal, who were booked in connection with Ahmedabad and Surat bomb blasts in Gujarat along with their accomplices.
