New Delhi, 23rd November 2022: On Tuesday (November 22), according to a DU official, over 26,000 candidates applied for the 14,000 vacant seats in undergraduate programmes at Delhi University (DU) colleges in the first round of spot admission.

More than 14,000 seats remain vacant at the university, which started accepting students for the academic year 2022–2023 in September, and 59,401 students have been admitted to undergraduate programmes as of now.

The deadline for candidates to submit their applications for the first round of spot allocation after the university released a list of the open seats for the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) was on Tuesday.

The allocations will be made following the number of available seats, program-specific merit, category, and college preference order.

Instead of Class 12 grades, the university will be admitting students this year based on their performance on the Common University Entrance Test (CUET).
