Hailstorm At Isolated Pockets In And Around Pune

Pune, April 27, 2021: Hailstorm was witnessed at isolated pockets in and around Pune on Tuesday evening along with thundering and lightening.


As predicted by Indian Meteorological Department (Pune) for last two days various areas of the city are getting rain. On Tuesday towards afternoon, the partly cloudy sky turned black and within some time, it started raining heavily in few areas.


Apart from rain, a few areas like Banner, Aundh, Akrudi, Pashan, Sus Road, Navi Sangvi areas received hail too.


Head of Weather department, Anupam Kashyapi said, “Shivajinagar received 2.3 mm rain while Pashan received 5.0 mm. Hail too was reported from areas like Banner, Aundh, Akrudi, Pashan, Sus Road, Navi Sangvi areas”.


Pune city recorded a maximum 38.4 degree Celsius while a minimum of 23.1 degree Celsius temperature.

IMD has forecast partly cloudy sky becoming generally cloudy sky towards afternoon/evening. Similarly, there will be gusty wind blowing 30-40 kmph with thundery activity, lightening. A very light rain is very likely too.
While the temperature would be around maximum of 38 degree Celsius and minimum of 23 degree Celsius.

Highest temperature recorded

The highest temperature was recorded at Bramhapuri which was 43.7 degree Celsius while a minimum 19.9 degree at Mahabaleshwar.
