Health Minister Reviews Measles Spread In Pune City, Suggests Measures
Pune, 5th December 2022: Maharashtra’s Public Health and Family Welfare Minister Prof. Dr Tanaji Sawant reviewed the health system in Pune and all the national health programs on Sunday. At that time, while expressing concern about the increasing incidence of measles disease, he ordered strict implementation of preventive measures against measles.
MLA Bhimrao Tapkir, Pune Municipal Commissioner Vikram Kumar, Additional Commissioner Ravindra Binwade, along with medical officers of the Health Department, were present on the occasion.
Apart from measles and Japanese encephalitis, Zika virus disease was also reviewed in this meeting. Measles disease and measures were thoroughly reviewed in this meeting. In that regard, Dr Tanaji Sawant suggested some measures.
He stated that Officials should go to the densely populated areas of the city and conduct a survey, visit private hospitals to get information about the patients, expand the patient search campaign, and pay attention to symptoms to prevent the spread of measles in the villages newly included in the municipal limits.
