Four-Year UG Degree Programmes To Be Initiated In Maharashtra From June

Pune, 5th December 2022: According to Shailendra Deolankar, the recently appointed state director of higher and technical education, Maharashtra will start implementing the New Education Policy (NEP) in June 2023 with the four-year undergraduate degree programmes.

 

Institutional development policies (IDP) will need to be created by government organisations. Additionally, he stated that a review of every senior college in the state would be carried out to assist parents and students in making decisions about which institution to attend. Three years will pass between each audit.

 

During a meeting with the media, Deolankar stated that such an audit was essential and that it would start soon. Colleges would be encouraged to forgo National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) evaluations, according to Deolankar. At colleges in Aurangabad and Nagpur, the interdisciplinary studies approach will be put into practice on a trial basis.
