Pune, 14th June 2025: Several parts of Pune district witnessed significant rainfall over the past 24 hours, with Shivajinagar recording the highest at 63.5 mm, according to data released by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) at 9 am on Saturday.

Chinchwad (58 mm), Lohgaon (54.2 mm), Lavale (51.5 mm), and Magarpatta (43.5 mm) also saw heavy showers, contributing to waterlogging and slowed traffic in various parts of the city. The continued downpour marks a strong onset of monsoon in the region.

Other areas receiving notable rainfall include Talegaon (42.5 mm), Lonavala and Rajgurunagar (39.5 mm each), and Hadapsar (38.5 mm). These moderate to heavy showers brought much-needed relief from the summer heat, although they also raised concerns over urban drainage and water accumulation in many areas.

Rainfall in rural and semi-urban pockets of Pune was relatively lighter but still consistent. Girivan recorded 33.5 mm, Dudulgaon 33 mm, and Daund 32 mm. Haveli, Narayangaon, and Bhor received 29.5 mm, 20 mm, and 15.5 mm respectively. NDA, Dhamdhere, Malin, Baramati, and Nimgiri recorded rainfall between 12 mm and 5 mm.

The IMD has forecast continued cloudy skies and light to moderate rainfall in the coming days across Pune district.
