Pune, 2nd August 2023: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a significant update regarding the weather conditions in the Bay of Bengal. The low-pressure system, which has been closely monitored, has shown signs of intensification and has now shifted to the North East Bengal Sea. Concurrently, there is a developing tropical cyclone in the Arabian Sea that is also impacting the Maharashtra region, gaining strength.

In response to the changing weather patterns, authorities have issued an orange alert for Konkan, Madhya Maharashtra, and Goa, indicating an expected rise in the intensity of rainfall. The situation calls for vigilance and preparedness in these areas.

The IMD forecast indicates that a large part of Konkan and Goa will experience rainfall, accompanied by potentially strong coastal winds. While Madhya Maharashtra may witness lighter showers, the Ghats region is likely to see more substantial rainfall.
