Helicopter With CDS Bipin Rawat Crashes Near Ooty, Four Persons Including His Wife Dead

Chennai, 8th December 2021: An army helicopter has crashed in Tamil Nadu. It is being told that senior army officers including CDS Bipin Rawat and his wife were present in the helicopter. The rescue operation was initiated right after the accident. All the injured have been admitted to the nearest army hospital and their condition is currently stated to be critical. Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh will give information about the accident in Parliament. At the same time, the Indian Air Force has ordered an investigation to find out the cause of the accident. According to a news agency, four bodies have been recovered from the accident site. Also, the three injured have been rescued.

According to news reports, a total of 14 people were aboard the helicopter at the time of the accident. These included CDS General Bipin Rawat, his wife Madhulika Rawat, Brigadier LS Lidder, Lt Col Harjinder Singh, Naik Gursewak Singh, Naik Jitendra Kumar, Lance Naik Vivek Kumar, Lance Naik B Sai Teja, and Havildar Satpal.

According to the information given by a news agency, CDS Bipin Rawat, his staff, and some family members were on board the Mi-series helicopter of the Army that crashed between Coimbatore and Sulur in Tamil Nadu. A search and rescue operation has been launched in the nearby areas after the accident.
