Hinjawadi-based company’s worker tested COVID positive; 21 workers quarantined
Pune, June 18, 2020: A 47-year-old worker in a Hinjawadi based company is found to be Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) positive. Now 21 workers of the company have been asked to quarantine.
Six family members of the patient have also been quarantined. They will be tested for COVID-19 tomorrow, informed taluka health officer Ajit Karanjkar. The family’s residence has also been sealed and the area is declared containment zone.
The patient complained of fever and cough for the past two days because of which he was admitted to a private hospital in Pune. The doctors suspected COVID-19 symptoms in the patient. On Wednesday, his tests resulted in positive. Following which two doctors and four health workers of the private hospital in Mulshi have been quarantined as well.
This has created panic in the Mulshi area where he resided. The block development officer Sandip Jatar also stated that the spread of the pandemic is increasing in the taluka region, therefore he suggested that residents should take all necessary precautions strictly and be aware of the situation. Meanwhile, the administration has initiated the required actions to prevent the spread in the area.
