Lonavla: Two policemen beat up man for not allowing them to overtake

Lonavala, June 18, 2020: A 31-year-old man has been beaten up by two policemen in Lonavala city for allegedly not giving side to their vehicle. Both the policemen involved in the case of beating the youth have been suspended.

This incident occurred in front of the LIC Building on Pune-Mumbai National Highway between 10 pm and 10.30 pm on Monday (June 15). Four men were going towards the market on two bikes when the two policemen, who were in civil dress and driving a private vehicle, honked horn to go ahead.

According to the police, Jayraj Deokar and Bunty Ahinve, who are posted at the Lonavla city police station, allegedly assaulted Prafulla Borade and his three other friends with a sledgehammer for not allowing the vehicle to proceed. An FIR has been registered against the two policemen in this matter. Superintendent of Police Sandeep Patil has suspended both the police personnel.
