Baramati (Pune), June 29, 2020: Archana Krishna Kale of Dorlewadi gave birth to a daughter at the primary health center. However, when her husband learnt about it he started beating and abusing her.

Balu Chavan, a health worker who had come to stop him, was also hit by the woman’s husband, Krishna Kale. Chavan sustained severe injuries to his eyes and head. He has been admitted to Silver Jubilee Hospital in Baramati for treatment. Baramati taluka police station, under Pune rural police, has arrested Kale. A case has been registered against him for offences under sections 353 (obstructing public servant from discharging duty), 333 (voluntarily causing grievous hurt), 504 (intentional insult) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

A long time has passed since the dawn of the 21st century. Yet the mindset of the majority of the people in our country is stuck in the rusty mentality of ‘no girl.’ While women are taking the lead in every field shoulder to shoulder with men, there is a massive outcry among the masses. Such incidents are still happening in a progressive state like Maharashtra.
