Husband Kills 19-Year-Old Wife In Pune For Questioning His Affair With Colleague

Pune, 23rd July 2022: A 19-year-old woman in Wakad was tragically killed by her husband after an argument about his allegedly illicit relationship with an office colleague. According to the police, they both met on Instagram and their friendship turned into a relationship.

Kirti Hanumant Bedekar has been identified as the victim. On July 20, her spouse Ashish Bhosale (23) committed the crime and then fled the scene after locking the house. A case has been registered against Bhosale by the victim’s maternal aunt Manali Pawar (36) at the Hinjewadi police station.

On July 20, Pawar received a call from the Hinjewadi police station that her niece had been discovered unconscious in her home and was being treated at the Aundh hospital. Pawar and her husband arrived at the hospital. Pawar was informed by the police that her son-in-law Bhosale had murdered Kirti and left the scene. The body was then sent to the Sassoon General Hospital for a post-mortem after physicians declared Kirti dead.

Vivek Mugalikar, Senior Police Inspector said, “Bhosale is already named in a case filed at the Saswad police station under section 363 (penalty for kidnapping) because he married Kirti when she was still a child. He and Bedekar used to argue frequently about her supposed extramarital affair, and he frequently beat her. Their neighbours called the police to report that their house’s door was locked from the outside and that a bad stench was coming from it.”

He added, “Sections 302 (murder punishment), 498 (A) (enticing, taking away, or detaining with malice a married woman), and 323 have all been invoked in connection with a case that has been filed (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt).”
