The company, a division of a German company, sells equipment for food processing. The business employs 50 people. For the previous seven years, Hirgange served as its general manager. The business handed him a laptop, a pen drive, and other electronic tools, as well as access to his email account, customer information, and private details about its numerous clients, commercial marketing, and designing.

He wanted to work as the CEO. He, therefore, brought up this matter with the director, who informed him that there were other candidates for the position. A committee to select the CEO had been established by the director. The committee, however, provided a poor evaluation of the accused and declined to name him CEO. After becoming irritated, the accused began to harass other workers until ultimately resigning from the company in April 2021.

The attorney Ashish Patankar, speaking on behalf of Vedic Pac-Systems said, “Hirgange violated our client’s confidence by stealing private information from the business and giving it to rivals. He not only joined one of the rivals after quitting the business, creating enormous damages.”

An FIR has been filed by the Koregaon police under Sections 420 (cheating) and 408 (criminal breach of trust by clerk or servant) of the Indian Penal Code as well as the pertinent sections of the Information Technology Act.

Vinayak Vetal of the Koregaon Park police station said, “We have filed an FIR, but we are still investigating the situation technically. We will be able to identify the involvement of additional people in the case after a thorough investigation.”
