‘I have been detained…’: Fadnavis Tweets Amid Protests For Nawab Malik’s Resignation

Mumbai, 9th March 2022: Former Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis tweeted on Wednesday afternoon that he has been taken into custody by the Mumbai Police.

 

He was demanding the resignation of Minister and Nationalist Congress Party leader Nawab Malik, who was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate in a money laundering case involving gangster Dawood Ibrahim.

 

 

 

Devendra Fadnavis, who is leading the BJP’s protest, said that he was detained and kept at a police station.

 

 

 

As per news agency PTI, he was later released and no FIR was registered against him. Besides Fadnavis, Maharashtra BJP chief Chandrakant Patil and party members Ashish Shelar, Mangal Prabhat Lodha were also detained.

 

 

 

Regarding the matter, Fadanvis took to Twitter and shared a video in which he is shown walking on the driveway of the police station. He tweeted, “At the Yellow Gate Police Station, #Mumbai after the MVA Government detained me and colleagues. #NawabHataoDeshBachao #Mumbai #Maharashtra”

 

 

 

Further, his office tweeted, “Instead of taking resignation of Minister Nawab Malik, MVA Government detained Former CM

 

@Dev_Fadnavis and BJP leaders who were demanding action against killers of Mumbaikars.. #NawabHataoDeshBachao”
