Ideal platform for women dentist to showcase their talent

01 October 2019, Pune: Smile Nation and Association of Indian Dental Professionals organized the second edition of International Women’s Dental & Leadership Congress 2019, from 27th to 29th September 2019 at Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University Dental College.

Former President of India, Hon. Pratibha Patil was the chief guest of the event. On the occasion, she was awarded with “International Women’s Leadership Award” for her contribution towards Women Empowerment during her tenure as Governor of Rajasthan and President of India.

The event conceptualised by Pune—based dentist Dr. Swapnil Sunil Bumb, renowned dentist saw enthusiastic participation of women dentist from all across India in larger numbers. A total of 550 women dentist from all across India participated in the event. The main aim of the event is to to provide equal opportunities to women by showcasing their talent & leadership skills on such a large platform.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Bumb said, “We are indeed very pleased with the response we got from all across India. The quality of doctors and sessions that took place during the course of the congress was indeed special. We thank all the doctors and dental fraternity for all their support and valuable time. I congratulate all the participants and award winners and wish them all the best for their future endeavors.”

Dignitaries like Mrs. Surekha Pratap Dugge, Additional Deputy Commissioner, State Intelligence Department, Mumbai, Dr. Meghna Bhargava, Deputy Commissioner, Income Tax, Mumbai, Ministry of Finance, Government of India along with Mrs. Shyamala Desai, Renowned Social Worker & Motivational Speaker were awarded with “Iconic Women of India”.

Mrs. Vijaymala Kadam, School Chairman, Bharati Vidyapeeth Group, who presided over the function and Dr. Asmita Jagtap, Executive Director – Bharati Hospital, Pune, India, were the Guest of Honour.

The event was also graced by President, Maharashtra State Dental Council, Dr. Narendra Kale who guided students and professionals and asked them to work hard for uplifting the dentistry in India. Also Present were Dr. Nitin Barve, President Elect, Indian Dental Association, Maharashtra State.
