Pune, October 6, 2020: The government of Maharashtra has released new guidelines for easing the flow of activities with the ‘Mission Begin Again’. The government allowed restaurants, bars, food courts, hotels to function with 50 percent capacity.

However, the government mentioned that schools, gyms, cinema halls, entertainment parks, swimming pools, auditoriums and other educational institutions will remain closed till October 31.

The United Health and Fitness Federation (UHFF) have started a petition to the Maharashtra government and CM Uddhav Thackeray on change.org to reopen gyms.

UHFF has urged people to sign the petition to support the fitness industry. They have asked that if restaurants, bars and food courts are allowed to function then why not gyms?

They said that gyms play a major role in keeping people fit and healthy thus it will help them to fight COVID-19 more easily. Also, people have to sign in a record book before entering the gym which will make contact tracing easy.

“In this view, and to make a stronger appeal to Maharashtra’s Government to open gymnasiums, we are running a petition campaign. We intend to highlight the following benefits to the fitness industry, its members, and society through this petition.

§ Improved health and fitness levels

§ Improved immunity and therefore enhanced protection from COVID-19

§ Employment for the industry and its members

§ Save the fitness industry from sinking and continue to contribute to people’s fitness

Every vote counts! So, please spare a few moments and help us strengthen this petition through your precious vote! Let us come together to make our society healthy and revive our beautiful fitness industry”, says the petition on change.org
