IIT Roorkee, JSPM’s, VIT Vellore, BITS Pilani and MIT ADT University Students win Hackathon 59-Atmanirbhar Bharat

Pune, 31 Aug, 2020: IIT Roorkee, JSPMs, VIT Vellore, BITS Pilani, and MIT ADT University won ‘Hackathon 59, Atmanirbhar Bharat 2020 (HAB-59)’, recently. Aviral Jain, Ishan Rawat, Mahak Gupta, Shreya Sharma, Stuti Lilani, and Supratik Das students of IIT Roorkee, Anshuman Singh, Akash Jha, Abhijeet Swain, Wahib Sabir Kapdi, and Ashwani Kottapalli students of BITS, Pilani, Chinmay Pardhikar, Tejas Ambekar, Mahesh Gavhane, Chaitanya Abhang and Dipak Pawar students of JSPM’s Jayawantrao Sawant College Of Engineering, Pune, Jayit Saha and Ishita Dasgupta students of Vellore Institute of Technology, Chennai, (VIT), Shahil Islam and Vidhant Matta students of SRM Institute of science and technology, Ram Suthar and Kunj Shah students of MIT ADT University, Pune, Srushti Dalvi and Jyoti Deshmane students of Vishwakarma Institute of Technology, Pune have bagged the first prize of 1,00,000 at the recently-concluded HAB-59 online hackathon Atmanirbhar Bharat 2020.

 


National-level hackathon co-hosted MIT Art, Design and Technology University, Pune and, TERRE Policy Centre. The hackathon involved teams of young developers build working apps to combat the 59 banned Chinese apps in Social Applications, Business Applications, Health, e-Learning, etc. 377 teams from 21 states participated. 133 teams were short-listed for the final round held from 9th – 18th August 2020. 81 teams submitted IT-based solutions in multiple categories- guided and evaluated by a team of 20 mentors and 18 jury members from industries.


The second prize of 50,000 was won by Arpit Sharma, Aman Preet Singh, Gazal Sharma, Bhupendra Saini, Chhatrapal Prajapat students of Institute of Engineering & Technology Alwar Rajasthan, Pratik S. Ghodake, Anup Rao, Bhunesh Argnoor, Neeraj Pardeshi, Rushikesh Kumawat students of Jayawantrao Sawant College of Engineering, Pune, Angad Kambli, Manas Chaudhary, Meet Shah, Smith Pereira, Twarit Waikar students of IIT Roorkee, Shubham Shah, Vishesh Mehta, Abhishek Nindroda and Sumit Khamar students of LDRP Institute of Technology and Research, Nakul Amate, Sagar Patil, Pranav Jojan and Sahil Morankar students of Pune Vidyarthi Griha College of Engineering and Technology, Haja Ashik S, Sanghavi A R, Sharanya S, Sri Senthil Balaji, J Pragati students of Sri Sairam College of Engineering, Bengaluru.


The Valedictory Ceremony on Aug was presided by Dr. G. Vishwanathan, Hon. Chancellor- VIT University, and Dr. Ramanan Ramanathan, Mission Director, Atal Innovation Mission. The event was co-chaired by Dr. Mangesh Karad, Executive President- MIT ADT University, Pune, and Dr. Rajendra Shende, Chairman- TERRE Policy Centre. The event was convened by Dr. Rekha Sugandhi. Also present were Mr. Pankaj Sharma, Head- Tech Mahindra Maker’s Lab (Innovation Partner), Dr. Mohit Dubey, CEO- AIC-MIT-ADTU (Incubation Partner), and HAB-59 Advisors Dr. Rajneeshkaur Sachdeo, Dr. R.V. Pujeri, Dr. Kishore Ravande, and Dr. Virendra Bhojwani, Dr. Rahul More, Director Strategy, Innovation, and Operations. Total 13 prizes- 1st prize of Rs. 1 lac and 2nd prize of Rs. 50,000- in 7 categories were declared.
