Illustrator Artworks Exhibition Inaugurated at Savitribai Phule Pune University

Pune, 13th January 2024: Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) hosted an exhibition featuring the works of 22 illustrators from across the country, showcasing the diverse talents of creative artists. The inauguration ceremony was led by Prof. (Dr.) Vijay Khare, Officiating Registrar of the University.

The event, held at Saraswati Hall of the University, witnessed the presence of Suraj Sriram, a renowned cartoonist and illustrator, and Dr. Madhavi Reddy, Head of the Department of Media and Communication Studies. Sriram, the founder of the Indian Illustrators Group (IIG), elaborated on the group’s objectives and its affiliation with the Museum of Cartoon Art.

In his address, Dr. Vijay Khare highlighted the significant contribution of creative individuals, stating that artists play a pivotal role in making the world more beautiful by offering unique perspectives. The illustrators present at the event were honored by the chief guest.

The coordination and hosting duties were expertly handled by Dr. Priya Gohad, the Curator of the University’s Museum of Cartoon Art. The exhibition attracted a large audience, including students, artists, and art enthusiasts, reflecting the widespread appreciation for the diverse and creative world of illustration.
