IMD Issues Orange Alert For Pune For Next Three Days
Pune 4th July 2023: The Indian Meteorological Department has issued an Orange Alert for Pune district for the next three days as heavy to very rainfall is likely to be reported at isolated places in the district. According to IMD, ‘heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places in ghat areas’ is likely to be reported in the Pune district on July 5 and 6.
Further ‘extremely heavy rainfall at isolated places in ghat areas’ is predicted for July 7. The experts have advised tourists to avoid visiting ghat areas on July 6 and 7. A yellow alert has been issued for Pune for July 4.
“Rainfall activity is very likely to increase over Maharashtra, gradually, during next 5 days. Orange alert issued for isolated very heavy to extreme heavy rain over Konkan and ghats of Madhya Maharashtra and yellow alert for isolated heavy to very heavy rain over rest of state” Anupam Kashyapi, head of the Forecast Department of IMD at Pune said.
