Viman Nagar, 4th July 2023: The poor road construction carried out by the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has led to a worrisome situation outside Rosary School. The area is now waterlogged, raising fears among citizens and parents that this could potentially lead to a dengue outbreak. The stagnant water has become a breeding ground for mosquitoes, posing a significant health risk to the local community, especially school children.
Expressing his concerns, Ravi, the Founder and CEO of Udchalo, stated that the current situation outside the school is a direct consequence of the negligence in road construction by PMC. He emphasized the urgent need for those responsible to be held accountable for their actions. The potential consequences of a dengue outbreak, particularly among children, are alarming and require immediate attention.
Aakash Gupta, a resident of Viman Nagar, has raised issues about the chaotic traffic conditions in the area during the rainy season. Despite Viman Nagar being known as one of the affluent areas in Pune, the lack of traffic police presence has resulted in severe congestion. The situation becomes particularly problematic at night when airport-related activities cause roadblocks, disrupting the smooth flow of traffic on the airport road.
The combination of waterlogging and traffic congestion has created a challenging environment for the residents of Viman Nagar. It is imperative that the PMC addresses these issues promptly to ensure the safety and well-being of the local community.
