IMD Partners With Pune Smart City, PMC To Provide Real-Time Weather Updates On Display Boards
Pune, 13th April 2023: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) in Pune has collaborated with Pune Smart City Development Corporation Ltd. (PSCDCL) and the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) to display weather information on multiple variable messaging display boards (VMDs) located at various places within Pune City.
This initiative is part of the effort to improve the outreach of IMD and promote urban meteorology. The weather information displayed on VMDs will include location-specific data such as maximum temperature, minimum temperature, and 24-hour rainfall.
IMD Pune chief KS Hosalikar expressed hope that this initiative will benefit citizens, government departments, and various other organizations. The PSCDCL team will display the information on VMDs, and additional information will be added in the future. This step is expected to help citizens and various sectors plan their daily activities and make informed decisions based on weather forecasts.
