IMD Warns Of Heavy Rains In Pune With Thunderstorms And Lightning
Pune, 10th October 2021: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning at 4 pm today that thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and moderate to intense spells of rain with gusty winds reaching 30-40 kmph are very likely to occur at isolated places in the districts of Jalgaon, Nashik, Pune, Ahmednagar, Sangli, Satara, Solapur and Kolhapur during next 3-4 hours.
Similar warnings have been issued for isolated places in the districts of Latur, Osmanabad, Aurangabad and Beed, Thane, Raigad, Sindhudurg and Ratnagiri.
On Saturday also, there were heavy rains in several parts of Pune leading to waterlogging on roads. Many nullahs were overflowing and traffic movement was brought to a standstill.
