In Pune, 3 People Committed Suicide In A Single Day; Reason Yet To Be Known
Pune, 18th May 2021: three men in Pune committed suicide at Bharti Vidyapeeth area in Pune. The reasons are yet to be known by Police.
According to the information given by the Police, Niranjan Balkrushna Salunkhe, age 35, resident at wardhapan building, near wonder city, hang himself to death. He was a driver and unemployed for the last month. His friend always brings tiffin for him, but he didn’t come on Saturday and Sunday. When he arrives at Niranjan’s home on Monday, for giving tiffin to him, he found that Niranjan hangs himself.
The other person, Popat Pandurang Salgar, age 40, resident at Sukhsagarnagar committed suicide on Monday (17th May). He was alone at his home as His two children went to their village and his wife went out for work. Salgar’s friend was repeatedly called him but he was not picking up the phone when the friend went to his home, he saw that Salgar has committed suicide.
Another person hangs himself near Rajeev Gandhi zoo, in Katraj. The police couldn’t found any suicide note or mobile phone to identify the person. Said Jagannath Kalaskar, a senior police officer at Bharti Vidyapith Police station.
The three incidents were shocking and raise concern over the current situation. As there is a month-long lockdown is imposed in the city, and many people lost their job as well as the income sources it is creating distress among the people. Consequently, it is not only affecting the mental health of the people but also led them to take such extreme steps.
“Such incidents happen due to extreme depression among the people. We must try to stop such incidents”, said Raghunath Yemul Guruji, a spiritual teacher.
