India and African Nations to Strengthen Military Ties at AFINDEX Exercise in Pune

Pune, 22nd February 2023: The Indian Army is all set to host the second edition of the Africa-India Field Training Exercise (AFINDEX) at the Aundh military station in Pune from 21 March to 30 March.

 

The first edition of the biennial joint military exercise was held in 2019 at the same location.

 

According to officials, many African countries are likely to participate in this exercise with focus on peacekeeping and humanitarian mine assistance.

The exercise is part of the confidence building and military relationship of the Indian Army with the African nations. In addition to the military and technical expertise that will be shared during the exercise, the participating countries and their personnel will also gain a better understanding of each others functionings.
